Cyprus - in September
We have been to Cyprus a number of times over the past 24 years and love it. We feel it is a good idea to ask this forum if they have been to Cyprus what were the best restaurants they ate at in Cyprus (especially Limassol area)? Many a time we find that the local run restaurants are little gems but hard to find.
We were reading about Piatakia in Limassol being a real good spot. Has anyone been there? It is written up in Trip Advisor by one person and got good reviews. Alot of other "google sites" recommend it. Thanks in advance everyone. |
The village of Pomos has the best fish meze on the island, it is not known by many tourists. It's in the north, past Polis.
The best Lebanese restaurant is near the Meridien in Limassol but I can't remember the name of it. |
I haven't been to Cyprus for years, but I'm gobsmakced to discover someone else here who's been to Pomos....

I have been up to Polis but not Pomos. I wish you could remember the name of the restaurant. My husband remembers his Father taking him to Pomos as a little boy and having fish there that was done in a "pit in foil" and it was wonderful.

Mandaloun is the name of the Lebanese restaurant and Kanali is the well known fish restaurant in Pomos.
There are traditional restaurants in the inland villages near to the Akamas eg Kathikas (wine from Kathikas is very good),Kritou Terra and Droushia to name a few. In the Limassol region, the village of Lofou also is worth a visit for the architecture as well as the tavernas. |
Thanks for your responses a year ago. We could not go last year but going next week. We will let you know what we try.
