Cycle tour advice - Balkans

DH is an avid road cyclist. I am not. He is interested in joining a tour in Croatia, Solvenia, BH, or any combination. We are thinking he could go to EU before me, do his tour, and I will join him at the end. He wants a high end bike; cycling for most of a day, as opposed to 4 or 5 hours; and would enjoy a country tour, without seeing tourist sites - we will do that together later.
Does anyone have suggestions for this? Would he be better off to do a self-guided trip? The ones we have checked out do not have the optimum bicycle that he is looking for. He is not interested in a bike and barge type, just more a cycle with accommodations along the way.
We are going the last week of September for 3 weeks,

Solvenia?

Sorry dumb of me Slovenia.

I cycle over a lot of Europe but on the flat. There is a company called something like Europe Cycles. Have a search but they do high end and delivery of bikes. Not sure they reach the Balkans but they have a good rep.

Alternatively you need a pro-cyclist who offers training programmes. Slovenia has some pretty good skiing so they have a good pro-athlete culture which is where I might start.

The first two from a simple search, the last I remembered reading in the guardian a while ago.

There are similar sites to the first to for Croatia for instance.

I've used these guys https://www.headwater.com/list/by-co...ia/cycling.htm who are well organised but I doubt the bikes are what you would want, however, the roads may not be what you want either, I last walked in Slovenia about 5 years ago and the back roads had a pretty bad surface. It might be useful to email headwater to get a local point of view and chat about bikes. My friends who do this sort of thing always take their own shoes and pedals if that is any help

Bilboburgler; That is a good suggestion to bring your own pedals and shoes, and he would want his own seat too. I will give him this link to contact. Thankyou
