Customs Question
If we fly from Milan to London, with a stop over in Brussels to change planes, will we need to go through customs in Brussels?

Michael

I predict not, but what airport? Is this on two different airlines? BRU both segments? or Charleroi (fairly distant from Brussels Proper).

Often times not only are you not required to go through customs - - you are not ALLOWED to exit through customs/security - - like to go to shops etc. Happened like that to me in Manchester England once.

Best wishes,

Rex
I can't tell you the name without looking it up, but it would be with Virgin Express both flights.

Michael

Your best bet is to call the airline and check,, this same question got conflicting answers a week or so ago.

You will not have to pass through customs as Italy, Belgium and the UK are all members of the European Union. However, you will have to pass through border/passport control in order to board your plane to London. Both Italy and Belgium are part of the Schengen agreement which lifts border control between participating countries. The UK however remained outside the Schengen area.

For your flight, it means that you will not have your passport checked at Milan, and you plane will arrive at Brussels Airport Concourse C. Once you leave the plane, you will have to walk to Concourse B which is reserved to flights departing to non-Schengen destinations. In walking from concourse C to concourse B, you will pass through a border control.
