Are you allowed to bring olive oil and vaccuum sealed meats into the USA from Italy? If anyone has a list, thanks.

Someone did post a list last week----but I don't know how to find it!

But in response to your two items: olive oil is fine, meat is not, even if vacuum sealed. No proscuitto, sausage, etc.

Hi novj, for an interesting article and to answer your questions go the SF Chronical website which is www.sfgate.com. At the top click on Today's Chronical. Then in the box where there are various catagories click on Food. You will read a very interesting article which will answer your questions. Best regards.

Thanks loveitaly. Very Useful.

Your welcome novj, or as they say in Italy, prego!!! Enjoy your time in Italy and do bring back some wonderful Italian olive oil!

I think that must have been my post, with the URL for the article in the Chronicle, but darned if I can find it now.

The safest thing to do is to go to the State Dept. web site and look under Customs and Dept. of Agriculture; it's the requirements of the latter that create problems with bringing back various foods.

Here's a link to the US Customs Site about meats and agricultural products.

Hi Underhill, bit warm today isn't it? Hope you are doing well, best wishes to you.

Not so much warm as hot! I guess out little bit of spring is gone (in our case, with the wind).
