Curreri Bus Service - Sorrento to Rome

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has used this bus service to get from Sorrento to Rome? If so, how did you find it? Can you book tickets when you get there or is it best to book before you travel? We will be using the bus on October 5th.

Also, where in Sorrento does the bus pick up from?

Many Thanks!

I used it last October about the same date. It leaves from in front of the train station.

They used a small bus not a full size coach touring bus that you see on their website so get there early. Almost all the seats were filled in Sorrento. When we got to Naples, only a couple of seats were available... so a few people were standing and I don't know what happened to the others at the bus stop!

We were stuck in traffic and didn't arrive in Rome until sometime between 12 - 1pm.

I paid for my ticket on the bus.

From Fiumicino, you take the FR1 train for 8 Euro to Roma Tiburtina. The bus station is next to the train station.

There is also the Marozzi bus that leaves from Tiburtina to Sorrento (3pm 17.50€).

The Curreri bus runs every day except Sunday from Sorrento to Rome. It leaves at 6:30 am and, as mentioned above, from in front of the train station.

The Marrozzi bus on October 5 leaves at 6 am from the same place in Sorrento.

Is this Termini Station or Tiburtina?

There is only one train station in Sorrento: the Circumvesuviana train station.

There are two different people (tinks211 and delmarr) on this thread asking about two different directions.

Both Curreri and Marozzi depart/arrive at Rome's Tiburtina station which is a major train/bus/metro hub in Rome. It's just a few metro stops from Termini. Curreri doesn't operate on Sundays and Marozzi only does in season. There is usually 1/2 hour difference between the companies (Marozzi departs 6am and Curreri 6:30am). Marozzi runs twice daily in season. Prices are similar (16-18€).

Pick up in Sorrento is at the train station although I have caught Marozzi at Piazza Tasso before (bus started there and then picked up at the train station).
