Currently in Croatia with a question!

We are in Dubrovnik for two more days and had planned to visit Mostar from here as a day trip. My husband is now wanting to do Mostar from Trogir (day trip also). If the drive time about the same from either, and road quality? Appreciate any help!

Shorter trip from Dubrovnik, drive time much the same, road condition is good enough. use www.viamichelin.com for more details.

Thanks! The weather is absolutely fabulous so far. Think we will go from Dubrovnik as planned. Would Sunday be as good a day as any? Would everything be open?

I'd drive to Mostar from Dubrovnik - it is a shorter drive, and if you go from Trogir you will be backtracking more than halfway to Dubrovnik on the coastal Adriatic Highway. Although there is now the fast motorway which runs inland and would speed things up.

Can I just say that please do not attempt to travel to/from Mostar on any minor roads - there is a good reason why why all those little white roads on the map are minor roads and as such are not suitable for anything other than local traffic. Trust me on this! The condition of the main roads is excellent, but pay attention to the speed limits, once you get into Herzegovina the police are very happy to pull you over for the slightest excuse! Oh, and put your lights on.

There are several bakeries in Dubrovnik, but one of the best is on a street that runs parallel to Stradun, and you enter it off Gundeleva Poljana (sp?) Then the bakery is a few yards along on the left. But there is also a small one actually on Gundeleva Poljana, on the left of the little supermarket behind the statue.

Good luck, and have a great time!
