Currency Exchange

Is there a good place to change money (dollars to Euros) in Amsterdam? I will be travelling there in 2 days. While I intend on withdrawing cash from the ATM once I get there, I would like to know if there is a place where I can get a good exchange rate in the city?

There are ATMs all over the place, so that's not going to be a problem. In addition, there are a number of exchange windows along Damrak (just follow your nose as you walk out of Centraal Station). I've used a couple of these and the rates/fees weren't bad at all -- surprising, in comparison to what these types of operations can fleece you for in other places.

Is there a place where you can get a good exchange rate in the city? Well, no, at least not as good as you will get from your ATM.

Something about your question doesn't make sense. When you get your money from the ATM it will be in Euros so there will be no need to change dollars to Euros. There is also no need to bring dollars to Amsterdam, put them in the bank and withdraw from the ATM.

Perhaps jetmags73 already has some cash which they wish to exchange.

Perhaps he or she will aquire US dollars in cash form outside of the US, away from access to their bank.
