Curling Iron

I will be leaving for Paris in Oct. and was wondering if anyone can tell me where I can purchase a curling iron when I get there. My sister is having her wedding in the south and I need it for her hair. I'm a hairstylist and don't trust the converters/adapters with my expensive iron.
Any ideas? I am staying in the 2nd if that helps.
Thanks,
Kim

Try Monoprix. One problem I have with my French curling iron is that it just doesn't get hot enough--so check ratings before you buy. Baby Bliss seems to be the main brand.

You could also try a hair salon, which might have professional styling irons.

Any major department store will have one.

You might want to buy one before you leave so you get the product you want. Here is a selection from ebay.fr

Try BHV in the 2nd on Rue Rivoli:

Thanks everyone, great ideas. I do have the Baby Bliss travel dual hairdryer. Not one of my professional beauty supplies carry any of the dual voltage curling irons. I think i'll make a shopping trip to a few of the stores mentioned when I arrive.
Thanks again!

Kim, BHV had a variety of curling irons, I was there buying a travel size hair dryer last month. I finally got tired of packing my dual hair dryer and not having enough power. A visit to BHV is a "wonder" in itself ;;) Deborah

Make sure you have the appropriate plug for the outlets. I was in Spain with a dual voltage hairdryer and was unable to use it because the outlet was depressed about an inch, and my plug didn't fit in that type of outlet.

Last year I went to Target and purchased a Revlon (?) curling iron for $10 that was suppose to be dual voltage. Combined with a plug adapter it actually did work just fine. (I am still using it for domestic travel) I was shocked, but.....

Did it have a 120/240 switch? And how long could you leave it on for?

It does not have a switch. I have no idea how long I left it on for, but knowing me figure at least an hour at a time. No problem.

The name is Babyliss here (Conair is the same company). Like most quality things today, made in China. :-( My dryer is a Babyliss, great quality about 45€. Don't think I'll need a new one in this life.
