I know that this is not strictly travel or perhaps it is.<BR>Anyway there is a trollish thread about Europe not being what it used to be and the British and American empires were mentioned. I suspect that the thread will be pulled, so could I mention for you BBC Radio 4 fans an interesting programme about cultural imperialism at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/history/inourtime.shtml<BR>

It's strange that the thread by Europeans about Americans, that started the above mentioned thread, got deleted, yet the US one stays Hmmmmmmm

maybe it got pulled because the title of this forum is 'Europe' and not 'usa'

Pity, the 'why American' thread had some intellegent debates. So much for freedom of speech.
