Crystal light single serve lemonade packets or similar
 

Is there an equivalent for Crystal light lemonade single serve packets in Paris grocery stores...and if so what would be the name and which stores? I have been looking for anything with Citron, sans sucre and Boisson in the name but am having no luck. Not sure if I am just overlooking. I would like to find something I can stash easily in my bag with my water bottle. Thanks

If there is such a thing, you should just be able to find it in the grocery store if you are looking in the section with things liked coffee, tea, etc. I know they have lemon-flavored powdered tea (Neste brand) in packets (called sachets de boisson). There is such a product by the brand name Tang, also, which is owned by Kraft and available in Europe. Crystal LIght is owned by Kraft also so maybe you'll find it, but I'd just look in the grocery store in the right section, it should be obvious if you find something.

Just about everything that I turned up on the internet is for hot drinks.

There are indeed plenty of powdered energy drinks for cyclists -- these would not be found in normal grocery stores.

What I'd recommend are those new liquid flavorings for water. You have a small bottle, which is less than 3 oz., and you just put a few drops in your water. It's not nearly as bulky as Crystal Light, and you can take a few bottles with you for a longer trip. THe brand is MiO, and they are non-caloric and come in different flavors. Take a look. It may be more or less expensive than Crystal Lite, but it's much more portable.

Or you can take some Emergen-C with you. Small packets, many flavors, available at US pharmacies (haven't found it in Europe yet), and gives you an afternoon pick-me-up. I take it for two weeks before departure, on the plane, and after arrival to beat jet lag and avoid that dang cold I used to always get on the plane.

Sorry not a fan of ice teas of any flavor and tang is like drinking orange flavored sugar to me... think I am going into diabetic shock just thinking about it. :) The MiO is a good suggestion, I haven't tried it before...really wasn't sure what it was but I do believe I saw it in one of the Monoprix stores. I went to Parc Floral de Paris today and with the light rain I believe I stayed hydrated through osmosis.:)

I thought maybe they had some Tang that was sugar free, I have no idea. They have Kool Aid that is sugar-free, don't they? And they have Tang that isn't orange-flavored, also, so it really isn't that different from Crystal Lite, just some powdered flavored drink.

Coincidentally, I noticed some small sachets of powdered lemon Crystal Lite in my office's kitchen and stole a few to take with me on my upcoming trip. I never would have thought of it, but not a bad idea. So in the future, you should take some with you to be on the safe side.

I just checked and Kraft doesn't sell Tang in France anyway, guess it doesn't appeal to them.

I think one problem here is that Europeans just aren't as averse to drinking water as many Americans are, so there are fewer options when you're in Europe. And while they certainly drink sodas, most Europeans would never think of doing it with every single meal. But I think MiO is probably your best bet if trying to find something in Europe. Let me know if you are able to find it, but I'm pretty sure it's available internationally.
