Cruises from Istanbul?
Greetings!
I am going to be in Turkey in July and am looking for a Cruise out of Istanbul! I'm having so much trouble finding lines that leave from Istanbul! I will be traveling on my own (23 year old female). Ideally, I'd like to travel through some Greek islands for a few days. Does anyone know of any places to look for cruises like this? Thank you! Ashley |

Go to www.cruises.com. Actually most online travel websites (travelocity, orbitz, etc) can also be used. Just select your departure city and a list of cruise lines and options will come up.

Yeah I used both of these... there just seems to be a lack of things in July! Also, I should mention I'm trying to avoid Athens... where everything seems to port! Ah!

Why avoid Athens? It's a wonderful city, and has the cruise choices you seek. There have been a lot of inaccurate reports about the city in the press recently, so don't be mislead.
Alternately, do your own cruise via ferries. That's better anyway, because you get to spend more time on the islands and less at sea. There are several places in Turkey where you can catch a ferry to a Greek island (Chios, Samos, Kos, etc), then get onto the Greek ferry system from there. |
Hi
It really depends on your budget too (let's face it, you can do anything with an open wallet!). One option is to fly to Bodrum and pick up a sailboat adventure doing the North Dodocanese. A return fare with Sun Express for eg. is around E130 - http://www.sunexpress.com. Check out - http://www.guletyacht.net/cabin-char...se/bodrum.html. Seems to be more your own age group. My son booked an inepensive sail boat tour of Croatia and had a hoot! So have a look at the above link. Good luck :) |
Check out Vacationstogo.com great site. I am taking a Pullmantur cruise in Oct that leaves out of athens and goes to Istanbul, Izmir, Marmaris, Santorini and Mykonos. Good luck in Turkey right now!

Voyages to Antiquity offers trips in that region.
