Cruise Venice-Dubrovnik Suggestions
 

I am looking for a 1 week or 10 day cruise Venice - Dubrovnik and return. Must stop at Korcula. Can't be a windjammer(sailing ship).Have looked at websites and get only four ships - - - Dalmajica (which I understand is an old ship), MS. Arion (starts in Lubljana) m/v Monet (anybody familar with it?) and yacht LeVant (probably "richer" than I want). Back in 1963 (that tells upu something about my age), we took an old coastal steamer (power plant was built during the Austro-Hungarian Empire!) out of Riejeka that stopped along the Dalmatian coat and at the islands along the way to Dubrovnik, and we had great fun. It's a more modern version of vessel for that type of itinerary I'm looking for.

Does anyone have any suggestions or comment on the above mentioned vessels?

Dalmajica shut down and no longer runs.

Have seen the Monet and would opt for
her from the Dalmajica which I would
not recommend if she were still running.

It's a smaller well-run ship that easily docks at the smaller ports.

We did that cruise on the Monet about four years ago. Enjoyed it immensely. I recall Dubrovnik (of course),Split, Korcula and other charming ports my aging mind can't bring up at this moment. It was 7 days..Venice to Venice. We booked thru Elegant Cruises in Port Washington, NY.

I am looking for the same trip for April 2008. I have decided on the Monet which looks like a great ship used by a lot of colleges and outfits like National Geographic. Now I am looking for a good tour company that uses it. Any ideas?

I believe that Smithsonian Tours uses the Monet, and that National Geographic tours may also use the Monet.
