cruise ships in Ireland?

My mother wants to go to Ireland and that means at least 15 people. This includes a 78 year old, a few 50 something's and a bunch of 20 year olds. The easiest way to do these trips is via a cruise. It is somewhat difficult for my mother to do a lot of walking. Any advice on cruise ships that cruise around Ireland? Maybe a European cruise line? Thanks

We haven't had ships cruising the Irish coast since the Vikings gave up raiding and settled here.

For a party that size where there is a mobility issue, it might be worth considering contracting a minibus and driver.

One really doesn't see much of a country from a cruise ship. Short shore excursions are not a way see/experience a country.

Perhaps a better option would be for you to hire a coach w/ driver/guide and do a customized land tour. That way your Mom can actually see some of the countryside.

OR - rent a large country house for a week and 3 or 4 rental cars and do day trips out and about. Then on days when Mom might be tired or not up to a full day, she'd have a house, garden, where she could relax while others can take another day trip.

Thanks for your quick response. We did a private bus and guide thru Budapest, Prague and Poland, so I guess we will do that again.

The driver is the best option either with a mini bus or rent a few cars amongst you. Its rare foir a ship to dcok in Ireland and I know of 2 that stopped in Dublin but nothing moire than that. Its not a money maker and you could see very little. The best parts are in the countryside!
