Croatia, walking or biking?
 

There are obviously a host of options to cruise around Croatia and hopping off for walking or cycling trips in different places each day. Is this the best way to travel in Croatia? Is is better perhaps to head to one or two national parks and do some challenging walks? I know it's horses for courses, but wondering if being on a boat for 8 days might become a little claustrophobic? Any views and/or suggestions for the most scenic landscapes/regions?

The Plitvice Lake National Park is stunning.

A good guidebook or two should prove invaluable to you. If you have an interest in hiking, cycling, etc., you might want to start with The Lonely Planet.

Thanks for the tip re Plitvice. Yes I usually grab all the guide books I can get on a country - what I really like about this forum is the opportunity to get advice from people who have actually experienced a place. Cheers

Not sure where you are hoping off but most of the larger mainland ports are not really biking areas. If you stop on Islands then bikes would be a great idea as the roads are underused.

If you are not on a ship at all then taking a bike into the national parks is a great idea.

Scenic? It's Croatia. It looks pretty good

Plitvice has lovely cycle routes, but parts are not accessible by bike and other parts are shared with large groups of walkers, especially in high season.
