Croatia travel ideas
We're going to Croatia in May. Staying in Dubrovnik to start for 3 nights. Then trying to figure out where to go after that. We have 6 more nights. Thinking Split, islands (Hvar? Korcula?). Suggestions appreciated on whether to stay in Split for 2-3 nights, then stay at one island, or do day trips, or more than one island? I read different views on whether Hvar is too touristy or just fine. Want it to be a relaxing trip. Suggestions on how to split up the 6 nights?? Thanks.

Where do you fly in/out?
Hvar is not bad in May--I would avoid it in July-August. Plenty of alternatives though. I am fond of Korcula, and Vis is fantastic.

I loved Split -- I found it energetic and dynamic and full of interesting nooks and crannies and ... maybe that's not your thing? If not, then consider staying in nearby Trogir -- it's just a 30" bus-ride away, is much more quiet, and has some UNESCO World-Heritage honored stonework.

I thought Hvar Town beautiful, but WAY too up-scale for my tastes; others find it lovely. I adored Korcula, and if you are able to visit Korcula Town on a night when the moresca is being performed, you might want to try it instead.

You might want to plan a trip that includes Dubrovnik, either Korcula or Hvar for a couple of nights, and then either Split or Trogir for a few nights. If your time permits, you could visit Sibenik or the Krka National Park or even Zadar as a day trip from either Split or Trogir.

I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter what you choose!

We fly in and out from Dubrovnik and are staying our first three nights there. The question is to what to do after that.

Not sure whether to stay in Split for 2-3 nights and a couple of nights on Hvar/korcula. Or do day trips from Split to the islands and other areas. Basically trying to find out if we should stay on the islands for multiple nights. And if yes, which would be best.

We like exploring cities but would also like to see the beaches. Just not sure how much time to stay on the islands.

Only you can decide that, Sueyrc!

@kja thanks :)

We enjoy walking around cities/towns/villages and enjoying the food, wine, culture. But also want to explore nature in the region. The islands look so beautiful.

For everyone, if you had six nights what would you do? We already have Dubrovnik set so it is trying to decide how much time to spend in Split, day-trips, stay on an island. We want it to be fun and relaxing. So not crazy jumping from place to place everyday. Suggestions? Thank you.
