Croatia, Slovenia humidity levels
We are thinking of travelling to Croatia and Slovenia in October 2004. Can anyone give me an indictaion as to how good or bad the humidity levels in these countries are over this period. I hate sweating for nothing :)

I can't answer for Oct. but in June it was very hot and my hair got very curly (my personal barometer). I perspired buckets, but trust me.....it wasn't for nothing! Croatia and Slovenia are well worth the effort. Both very beautiful with many places to see and enjoy.

In October, Croatia and Slovenia will be beautiful --- certainly not overly humid and not warm. The climate should be mild, with high temperatures around 60 to 65 in Slovenia, and slightly higher in southern Croatia. Low temperatures will be in the 40s. It's almost a perfect time to visit these places. Good luck.

We expect to go in May. Can we expect reasonably similar weather to that encountered in October?
|
I don't know if you intended this question for me, so I'll answer it. The weather in May will be very similar to October but a bit warmer, and with possibly a little more rain. But neither time is a bad time to go. Just remember that weather is not predictable, so expect some variation from these averages. Good luck.

I haven't been to Croatia in October, but I have been there in September and the weather was pleasant. Some days were warm enough to still go swimming and some days it rained. It wasn't humid at all.

hi
I also reponded to another posting of yours. we were in Croatia the end of september beginning of October. The weather was sunny, it only rained for one day. temperature was in the mid 70'sF.to the low 80'sF. at the beginning, by the end of the trip it was cooler usually low to mid 70'sF. Get a couple of good guide books, I used Footprints and Eyewitness. I thiough all around the Footprint was more of what I was looking for. I don't know if you aware but there are some really nice hotels with our favorite being the Hotel Eden in Rovenj. we enjoyed it so much we came back to it again We had 1/2 board there. Their buffets were usually very good. It's a 4 star hotel. The pizza is great in Croatia, very Italian. In Porec you must go to NoNos pizzeria. It's across fro the main tourist office. Excellent sea food also. Though they do try to slip you a whole octopus [small] in the risotto. |
Thanks to everyone for your responses. You all have really helped me a lot. Wayne, Aeiger and Grasshopper your answers have been especially helpful.
If anyone else feels that they want to comment further (on clinate, humidity or anthing about Croatia and Slovenia) please do so as one can never get enough info to make a vacation work out well. :) Much apreciated to you all.
