Musvin, I am happy to know that you find my trip report helpful. I always plan my trips by reading not only guidebooks, but trip reports as well. They are so helpful. Glad that you like my photos. My husband took most of them. Only a few are mine. He is a better photographer than me!

How wonderful that you will be spending 3 weeks in Croatia! What is your itinerary?

Thank you, thank you, Karen, for all the wonderful details in this report. Also for the beautiful photos. This really wet my appetite for the trip we have planned for next September October.

I don’t have an itinerary yet but hope to follow one similar to yours but including Istria. Hopefully 3 weeks will do it.

Natylou, I am so happy you find my trip report helpful, and thank you so much for letting me know that. Your kind words give me encouragement to continue writing trip reports!

Although we didn't visit Istria, I would think that you will have the time to do so in 3 weeks.

I'm really enjoying this, KarenWoo! And I hope to visit this region in the not-too-distant future and will definitely use a lot of your report for ideas.

I'm not sure if you continue to have problems with posting photos, but fyi - if any of them are over 10mb, they won't post, though the site doesn't give a reason why they won't.

Hi Progol,
Thanks for the tip about the photos! And I am happy to hear you are enjoying my trip report. You will love this region! It is so beautiful! And what I liked about our itinerary is that we had a lot of diversity. From the beautiful Adriatic seacoast to the stunning mountain scenery in Slovenia, and each city we visited was different from the previous one.

Thank you for the compliment! The majority of the photos are my husband's, and a few of them are mine.

Just in the planning stage. We are in lock down in Victoria Australia. It is likely that only New Zealand will be open to us next year. Not a bad thing. We would rather be safe than dead. Hopefully our government will keep potential virus carriers out.

I understand what you are saying. We had to cancel so many trips this year. We would rather be safe than dead, too! We are from the US, and we are so angry with POTUS' response to the pandemic. No one wants Americans right now. We have young grandchildren who live in France, and we have not seen them for a year. We/they had to cancel a total of 3 trips this year, visiting each other. Not confident what 2021 will bring, either.

When you are able to travel to Croatia, you will love it! It is such a beautiful country!
Stay safe and healthy!

Fantastic, fantastic trip report. It was so enjoyable! Loved it for its detail, photos and advice. We are looking to attempt a trip to Croatia this summer to celebrate my birthday. Realize things will be different re: COVID, but feel the scenery, the drives, the food, the architecture will be enough to entice. We will be fully vaccinated as of next week, so that will be a huge relief. I cannot tell you how helpful this report is. It took me so long to read as I stopped and googled so many of the places you visited, stayed and ate at! Thank you for the time you took to write such a great report. Fantastic trip planning results in an amazing vacation!

KarenWoo,
Now that I’m in the middle of planning a trip for September/October I want to echo Lolazahra’s words: this is a fantastic trip report and so extraordinarily helpful with all the details! As I’m still in the overall planning stage, and waiting to see if Slovenia will open, I can’t finalize the itinerary, but am working on trip alternates, with and without Slovenia.

I’m also now considering the day trip to Montenegro after reading how much you enjoyed it!

Thanks again! I love your report and the gorgeous photos!

Progol, thank you for your compliments! I am always happy to hear that my reports help other travelers. I love reading other travelers' trip reports and find them so helpful. I remember your Spain report from several years ago helped me so much in planning our trip to Andalucia in 2017!

Thank you!

We are just starting our trip planning for this coming Fall and your TR is very helpful. Your trip sounded wonderful and has me even more excited. You provided so many useful recommendations that will be quite helpful. Thank you! Now I have to look up the other TR's you referenced. 😃
