Croatia - Parking in Pula and Porec
We’ll be traveling to Croatia in September and we’ll be spending a few days in Rovinj. We’ll have a car and will take day trips to Pula, Porec and Motovun.
I read on this board about how difficult it is to park in Rovinj and Dubrovnik – but what about Pula and Porec? We definitely want to visit the Roman amphitheater in Pula and the mosaics of the Cathedral of Eufrasius in Porec. Can you tell us about parking in these towns? Any info appreciated, thanks. |
I haven't been to Porec but in Pula it seems rather easy. The difference is that the walled cities are difficult to park in. Or you must park away and walk. There is plenty of off street parking around the amphitheather. Be sure to check out the museum there for the amphoras.

I recently posted a thread with addresses and links to the tourist information websites in several towns in Istria - Pula and Porec among them. You may find info on parking there.

We also plan on touring these towns with a car. Apparently, re Motovun, you park on the bottom of the town hill.

I just had a look on the websites for Pula and Porec, and the carparks are all marked on the town maps.

Thank you all for the responses.
Julia, great links, I will check them all for parking info and to find out more about what Istria has to offer. Catbert, thanks for the tip on the amphoras. Syl, parking down the hill at Motovun won’t be a problem. The exercise we’ll give us an excuse for lunch :) |
Although it's not your question, for parking in Rovinj, this link is very helpful:
