Croatia Itinerary

Wife and I are looking to go to Croatia in late August/early September. Looking to site see, island hop, eat, lay on the beach. Anyone have any suggestions on a sample itinerary or lodging recommendations?

So how are you getting to Croatia? And how are you leaving there? Will you want to rent a car? Stay on the coast or venture inland?

Your questions are pretty broad, since they don't address stuff like budget, age and physical condition, mode of travel (are you driving?), comfort level on roads with steep cliffs and no guardrails, etc. But budget, health, and interests are most important.

Do you know how to use the "Search the functions" box on the upper right? That and a quick look at "Croatia" in Wikipedia would help you narrow your questions. If you are really wide open, go to google images and enter "Croatia". It will show you all kinds of beautiful places you might want to visit.

well after doing some research we can fly into Venice, stay for 3-4 nights, take the ferry to istria and stay in ravinj for 3 nights. we would like to stay in hvar too and see Dubrovnik. is that doable. what are we missing. we have 2 weeks total and can fly out of Dubrovnik back home.

WHat you're missing is ferries don't run everyday, especially car ferries. The Venezia lines ferry to Rovinj runs Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday through September. Having picked up a rental car in Rovinj, you could then drive to Split (5 hours) and catch the car ferry to Hvar, which runs on Tuesday and Saturday only, leaving Split at 7 AM. This ferry continues on to Dubrovnik, so you could do your next leg on the following voyage. Or ferry to the mainland at Drvenik and drive south to Dubrovnik.

Or you could fly from Pula to Split, and catch a catamaran to Hvar. To continue to Dubrovnik you have to go back to Split and bus, drive or fly to Dubrovnik.
