Croatia car rental questions. Also, anyone use AN NOVA Rent a Car??
I have been searching for a rental car. We will pick up in Zagreb (flying in from Dubrovnik) and then dropping off in Ljubljana. Trust me everyone, I know about the one way fee and the fact that we aren't driving though most of Croatia... :-) So far, for a 4 day rental I have found the following (oh yeah, we have to have an automatic!): AutoEurope: $723, Hertz $692 and Sixt $471 and An Nova (located in Zagreb's airport $438. I have called and received email from An Nova. Seems okay to me, but just checking with all of you.
Anyone have any thoughts on this topic?? |
I rented in Zagreb from Unirent and thought the service was good.
BUT I returned it in Zagreb. You can check them out. I do not know if they allow one way rentals. It was an automatic, small. I believe Nova is a broker. Unirent is an actual agency like Hertz. |
Where are you going? 1. because I am curious because we so rarely hear about travel in that part of Croatia, and 2. If primarily Slovenia, why not rent in Ljubljana?

I believe that cost is so high due to a hefty insurance fee charged for Croatia.
Also, do not forget to drive with your lights on in Croatia. Not to do so will risk being stopped and "shaken down" for at least a $50-100 fine. Also, make sure that you have proof of insurance with you in the car (you should get that when picking up the car). have a great trip. |
We are flying in Zagrebm driving to Plitvice for 2 days, then heading up to Bled for 4 nights. From Bled we will day trip to Bohinj, Ljubljana and spend time in Bled. These are the final days after Switzerland, Italy, Split and Dubrovnik. Some quiet time in Bled is a great way for us to spend our past day before heading home.
I will check out Unirent today. Thanks |
