Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro - does this ininery sound ok?
Hello all,
I've wanted to visit the Balkan region for what feels like forever.
I've finally convinced hubby for us to take a trip out there, at the end of May.
Hubby and I have different travel styles. I like to be on the go all the time, see everything and mix with the locals. Hubby likes nice resorts, relaxing on the beach and dislikes long journeys between different destinations. Together our travel style is like our marriage, we compromise.
We have 6 days in the Balkans once we land at Dubronvik airport.
I would like to see Mostar, Dubronvik and Monternegro.
Day 1- We land in Dubronvik @10.30. Booked 3 nights at Hotel Perla in Herceg Novi, Montenegro. Close enough to get around the towns in Montenegro by bus and to get back to Dubronvik. Plan is to relax on the beach and explore Herceg Novi Old Town.
Day 2 - Explore the towns around Montenegro by bus- return to Herceg Novi in the evening
Day 3 - Day of leisure around Herceg Novi or exploring more towns around Monternegro.
Day 4 - Heading to Dubrovnik and staying in the Old Town
Day 5 - Heading to Mostar by bus 8am - overnight stay to celebrate hubby's birthday
Day 6 - Afternoon return to Dubronvik. Staying in Old Town.
Day 7 - Afternoon Flight back home from Dubronvik. We have hand luggage only so don't need to be there too early.
Does this ininery sound doable?
Many thanks,
Vaish x

I think your itinerary is do-able. I also think it leaves less time for Dubrovnik than I (at least) would want. As I count, you only have part of day 4, the evening of day 6, and the morning of day 7 there. I think Dubrovnik deserves a minimum of 1.5 days. You might consider switching at least 1/2 day from Herceg Novi to Dubrovnik. When in Dubrovnik, don't miss the Buza Bar!
I thought about a day perfect for Mostar. If your experience is anything like mine just a few years ago, be prepared for some very emotional moments.
I trust your time in Montenegro will include Kotor and the Bay of Kotor? Stunning!
It is a beautiful part of the world! I hope this helps you reach a suitable compromise.

In Mostar you are going to see river Neretva. In old Celtic language it means Floating Deity.
Yes, once upon time there lived Celtic tribes or people.
The river has torquize-green colour and it is too cold to swim during May.
If you ask in Mehmed Koski-Pasha Mosque to climb at minarett, you will be able to make better photos of the Old Bridge.
Somwhere you will see pvc garbage in it. Our country because many political blockades does not have adequate laws and rulles about pvc ambalage.
Welcome!

Thank you very much for all your tips. We had an amazing trip, the Balkan region is just so beautiful. Our favourite place was Mostar, followed by Montenegro and then Dubrovnik. If we ever did this trip again, we'd lose a night in Montenegro and spend it Mostar instead.
