croatia and prague
 

Please Fordorites help us out with a 4 week slow moving itinerary capturing Croatia and Prague and whatever you consider worthy of a look...we would like a mix of cities and small quaint town locations....when is the best time to travel to these destinations? Want to make it for any special festivals etc if possible....thanks so much, you guys are awesome,,,

We went in June two years ago, and Croatia was dreadfully hot. From Prague, take at least a day trip to Cesky Krumlov.

September-October is a wonderful time to visit Croatia.

I visited Croatia in May/June, spending about 3 weeks in Croatia itself and another week in other parts of the former Yugoslavia (Sarajevo, Mostar, Kotor, Ljubljana, and Bled) -- loved it! If you want to spent time on Croatia's islands, it may help to plan some or all your trip for after 1 June, when ferries become more frequent. (I suspect the schedules change back somewhere around Sept., but you'll have to check.)

I also love Prague, which I visited years ago before it became as overrun by tourists as I believe it now is. From what I read, I would think that Prague would be best visited before or after school-time summer vacations.
