Croatia Air questions??
Hi everybody-
How far in advance do people recommend we book our airline tickets from Zagreb to Dubrovnik if we are traveling the first week of May? We are not 100% sure if we might be able to arrive a couple of days early (my husband receives his May schedule only 2 weeks prior to May) so we were wondering if we could wait to book our airline tickets or if we should book them now. Does anybody know if they get really expensive if we wait to book them until 2 weeks prior to traveling? Thanks for your help! |
Hi Pg;
We are also flying from Zagreb to Dubrovnik in May, I have been checking the flights on Croatia Airlines and they always seem to be the same amount. 274.00 HRK which is approximately 38 Euro. I just checked 2 weeks out from today and they are the same price. Of course, there are never any guarantees that they won't go up, but they look pretty stable to me and I've been checking for months. We are also trying to nail down our exact itinerary, so haven't booked yet. Hope this helps. |
When we've booked in the past we booked about two months in advance. So far the most we've paid is about $50 CDN per person which I think is incredibly cheap.

Someone I know who is from Dubrovnik but lives in Zagreb always pays enough for his tickets home to visit Mom that they can be cancelled without penalty. Then he calls her from the airport to find out if the Bora(see "Bora" in Wikipedia) is blowing. If it is blowing in Dubrovnik, he cancels his plane ticket, rents a car, and drives home. The Bora is mostly a winter phenomenon, and Croatia Air pilots are used to it, but it can make for scary landings. There are some good videos of Dubrovnik landings on YouTube!

Just want to remind you to check the FAQ's for luggage restrictions as they drop quite a bit inter europe! You probably already knew that, but just a friendly reminder! :)
