Croatia

Has anyone been? What is it like? I am thinking about surprising my husband with a trip.

You may want to do a search on "Croatia" on these boards. My husband and I are planning a trip to Croatia next year and there have been quite a few people on here who have been and have given some great info.

I haven't been to Croatia but I saw Matt Lauer on the Ellen show recently and he said he went there as part of the Today show ("Where in the World is Matt Lauer")and that it was great.

Dr.,

It is probably a bit dated now, but we were there in September, 2004 for a few weeks. I posted a (much too long) six-part trip report which you could find by inputting my name into the search box on the Europe thread.

I'm sure you will have a wonderful trip in that friendly and lovely land. Feel free to ask any questions.

:-)

We loved Croatia! I wrote a report which became rather long with others adding good information. Put Ahhh, Croatia! in the search box and you will find it.

You and your husband will be very pleasantly surprised with this wonderful country. It has been two years since we have visited there and we would love to return.

We were there in Setember and loved it! We were on a tour which made it easy to get around. The dalmatian coast is incredibly beautiful, the tourist services are very much in place, people are friendly and enough English is spoken in restaurants etc to be quite comfortable. September was a perfect month to go - beautiful weather and not inundated with tourists. Do search on here, there is information.
