Cres or Plitvice?
 

I am planning an 8 day trip to Slovenia and Croatia in September and am running out of time to do the things I want to do. I am currently planning to start in Ljubljana with side trips to Lake Bohinj, Kobarid and Postajna. In Croatia I plan to go to Motovun, Rovinj, Pula and Opatija. I am flying out of Zagreb to go home and was wondering if I should spend my last day on the island of Cres or at Plitvice. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ima1016, September is the perfect month in Slovenia & Croatia! Check the dates you will be in the Lake Bohinj area, they have a great annual "Cow Ball" which is just a blast. Plitvice is wonderful but honestly it doesn't look like that would be a workable visit given where you will be and where you need to end up. We did not get up to the area you will be at while we were in Croatia (another trip back for us for sure). Slovenia was wonderful, as was Croatia. Thanks for the responses. Yes, we will have a car and may have the option of adding another day if necessary.

Add another day and go to Plitvice. It is amazing!

Plitvice - hands down. There are more wonderful islands than Cres.
