I heard that the Island of Elba does not take credit cards. Hard to believe. Can anyone confirm or set me straight?

I stayed in Elba last summer for a week, and they do take credit cards. What a crazy rumor!

I stayed right across from a beach called Padulella. This was right in Portoferraio, walking distance to the ferry. We loved the small beach, except for the fact that is was all pebbly/rocky, as most beaches are on that side of the island. One of the best things about the beach was the excellent snack bar with yummy fresh seafood, especially the calamari salad. We enjoyed several restaurants within a 30 minute walking radius, and I will have to locate the names for you. Elba is beautiful! Hope you enjoy your stay and I will get back to you with some restaurants, etc. soon.
