credit cards in France

This may be an idoit question, but my first time in Europe. What is the best credit card to use universally.

In France, Visa is the most widely accepted card, but other cards are accepted as well. Credit cards are very widely used and you can pay for just about everything with them. It helps to keep 20 euro or so on hand for small things, though.

Visa, yes, as Anthony says, but alot of places will not accept American Express.

jjaonhen, Discover Card is not accepted in Europe.

Capitalone is a good card to use, USAA even better.
