Credit Card foreign transaction fee class action settlement checks
Has anyone heard anything about the class action settlement check for $25 - or better yet received theirs?
As I recall, the suit was settled months ago, and those affected were offered the option of accepting a $25 settlement check from the CC companies.
Anyone know when the funds are supposed to be disbursed?

The deadline for sending your application is in May, so I would not expect a check anytime soon. As I understand it, they will determine how to allocate the fund only after the total number of claimants is known.

From the FAQ page on the settlement website:
the deadline for filing a claim has been extended to May 30, 2008.

Refunds will be paid after the Court finally approves the settlement, and approves any award of attorneys' fees, awards to the class representatives, and allocation of the settlement fund among Settlement Damages Class members, and any appeals related to that approval are resolved. It is possible that this could take several months, or, if appeals are filed, several years. You may want to check this website from time to time for updates.

Realistically, the first checks won't be issued until late this year if then. As mentioned above, the deadline to submit claims is not until the end of May.
The $ amount of the refunds cannot be determined until all claims are received. Since the settlement is a set amount - the amount refunded to each claimant depends on how many others claim refunds and for how many days overseas.
The size of the pie is known - the number of slices out of that pie isn't until after the end of May.
