Cozy Hotel in Paris?
Will be in Paris again in Septemer. Would like to stay in a smallish type hotel with air conditioning. We have stayed in a hotel near Rue Cler before. I can't remember the name right now. We are looking for some place that is nice but rather small.

We love Grand Hotel Jeanne d'Arc. 78 euros per night for double. The hotel is small and the remodeling that has been going on for several years is finished. The area is great! I am not sure about air but we have stayed there in May and the temp is fine. Also there are windows that you can open. The telephone is 01 48 87 62 11, Fax 01 48 87 37 31.

You may be thinking of the Hotel Muguet, near Rue Cler, with air conditioning, smallish and charming, as well as quite resonable!

I just stayed at the Hotel Jeanne d'Arc and would recommend it-- especially at the price!! It's a great location, but remember the Marais area is a little unique. I also stayed atthe Hotel vendome St Germain in the 5th. Quaint little place, great location (one block from metro stop, MANY cafes, bars, restaurants, etc). Under 1ooE and you get a refrigerator in your room. Pretty sure they had air.

I believe that the Lutece on the Ille St Louis has a/c. It is both small and charming and in a wonderful neighborhood. |
My wife and I have stayed at Le Sainte Beauve (check web site) twice and have found it charming. Right off St Germaine and close to a Metro. Cozy but nice- check the pictures on site.

Agree, the Sainte Beuve*** is a charmer, just like the Jardin Le Brea***, on Rue Brea, next to Rue Sainte Beuve, 6th. www.hotels-unis.com Both about the same size (some 22 rooms), both with air conditioning. Easy access to public transportation, Luxembourg Gardens, and wonderful small, not overly touristy bistrots in the area. The famous brasseries on Blvd. Montparnasse for people watching are just a few steps away. Good luck! |
