Cows on Parade

We just got back from our trip to the Highlands. We spent a day and a half in Edinburgh. We were fortunate enough to be there during the "Cows on Parade" exhibit. I've seen the exhibit in Atlanta and my husband saw the one in Chicago. They are lots of fun to hunt for! If you are in Edinburgh in the next month, go the art gallery and pick up a map to locate all the cows! My only complaint is how defaced many of them have become. They are art pieces that should be respected.JMHO~!

I've seen lions in Munich and various animals in US cities. Some can be quite clever. Hope they are still in Edinburgh in late August, would be fun to see them.

Our first experience with "cow art" was in Zurich a number of years ago. This concept seems to have become quite popular, with various animals in many cities. The last I'm aware of was hearts in San Francisco. Appropos I thought. Tony Bennett and all that jazz!

Vancouver, BC, has bears this summer. Last year, I understand, they had whales.

It's hard not to smile when you see displays of this kind.

We had bears in DC at one time. Most were auctioned off for charity at the end of the display.

We now have the reopening of the National Portrait Gallery and National Museum of American Art, so that is the local summer excitement here.
