covid updates

Any new updates on covid restrictions ? Plan to be there in March.l

Since your post was labeled Portugal, I'll assume that you're inquiring about new Portuguese covid restrictions.

Along with mandatory mask wearing,
Starting Dec. 1, there will be a requirement for travelers to have a negative covid test prior to entering Portugal. We will be flying into Lisbon from Madrid and will need to be tested 48 hours prior to departure. Our Lisbon and Cascais hotels and our booked restaurants will accept our US CDC vaccination cards for check in and for dining (we've verified this with them by email and by phone). For the New Year's Day symphonic concert we'll be attending in the Centro Cultural de Belém and for the Equestrian Gala we'll attend, we will need to present our CDC cards to enter (they've confirmed).

Jeterray, slightly off-topic - just curious but what happened to your planned visit to Chile/Santiago? Is Portugal a replacement?

jeterray Dec 1st, 2021 06:15 PM

Thanks for your inquiry. Our trip was originally to travel to Lima then on to Cusco, Peru, where we would stay for about 5 days and visit MP. Then fly to Santiago for a few days before boarding a Holland cruise back to Fort Lauderdale. Holland cancelled the cruise, and moved us to the same cruise in 2023. Since we want to do that trip, we agreed to that change. So yes, Portugal is a nice replacement.
