COVID Testing
 

Hi folks - We will be getting tested before we return to the U.S. and would really appreciate a better sense of where testing takes place (govt or private clinics), a site where one can make appointments if that's an option, and a website to find such information. Some of us may need to complete testing in Santorini and others in Athens or Hydra. Thanks again.

that website has a list of diagnostic testing facilities and options I don't see any in Hydra and nly one in Santorini with limited info.

Are you able to take a remote antigen test kit with you and test yourself whilst there? That is what I am planning to do with my trips, you do get a test results certificate for travelling and some of the test providers use zoom or similar to monitor the test, others just want you to send in a photo of the test cassette. You do need good internet though and a smartphone or laptop. I think Azova is one of the test providers as suggested by DL.

I’ve been following a discussion on Flyertalk on the use of these kits and lately, there have been very long waits for the monitors to show up. This may be a factor of the busy tourist season but it’s probably good to be prepared with a backup.

Too bad. I read one review on a thread on Flyertalk with a bad experience with a monitored test but the rest seemed positive esp those that were not monitored. You can have issues with internet connections or other technical probs for sure. Several of my friends have used them and the reviews are pretty good so hope it will go ok for me. It is worth setting up the account/profile details before travelling if a kit was going to be used and having a back up of knowing where to get tested locally if that becomes necessary.

I'm in Ireland. The U.S. Embassy lists a few places for antigen tests, but Boots, Hickey's and other pharmacies do it much for cheaply. Do you see any possible issues if I go with a Boots, and not with ones on the Embassy list? I especially want the test near St. Stephen's Green, rather than going to Dublin Airport.
