Covid test for Netherlands
 

I’m experiencing a bit of confusion on whether or not a Covid test is required to fly on KLM. The government website says no testing required. But the way it reads on KLM a test is required. They have two differing time frames also. A NAAT test either 24 or 48 hours prior. Some clarification would be great as my attempts to get answers from them have not been successful. I would be flying from the USA.

KLM do not have rules over and above those of the country you are entering. You do not need a test just to travel on KLM. KLM do not provide advice on what tests you need, no airline does that. It’s your responsibility to figure it out and comply, just like it is with visas & other entry requirements. You do not mention where you are flying to nor whether you are transiting in AMS so it’s impossible to answer your question.

Why not use the tool that KLM provides to its travellers to find out what you need? As it is specific to your itinerary, you should not find the answer confusing hopefully.

As of 23 March no Covid test is needed to enter the Netherlands.
I suspect KLM just hasn't updated it's website.

Your suspicions are unfounded. KLMs info is up to date as you would expect from the national carrier. It’s generic info that they publish on their website. For specifics, KLM provide a TIMATIC style tool so each person can their own requirements.

Well they are wrong, since the Dutch government has dropped the need for testing before arrival.

In fact having looked at the site you link to, and filling in a hypothetical trip, they show a test is needed to return to the US, but not for arrival in the Netherlands.
A passenger locator form is still required.

Interesting because when I look at the site the travel requirement page says no test required. When on the Ready to Fly page it says test required. Also not noticing anything about PLF. All clarification appreciated.

According to the link I posted earlier you have to complete a health declaration if you arrive by plane or ferry.

You need to check on whether you need a test to return home.

It does no harm to complete and print the form, at least you will have it then if it is asked for.
