CousCous in Paris?
Anybody got any favorite places to recommend?
|
I had a splendid cous cous at Le Dattier, at 39 rue de la République, a couple of years ago.
|
there is a great morrocon restaurant on rue jacob, down the street for hotel du danube.
|
I'd recommend:
El Mauresque- 3, Rue Cadet in the 9th. Tel : 01 48 24 42 99 This was a wonderfully atmospheric Moroccan restaurant that we stumbled across this May and had a delicious lunch. I’d love to go back there for dinner. Great couscous with vegetables, brochettes of lamb or merguez sausage, assorted pastries and sorbet for dessert, and Moroccan tea. The lunch menu costs only 12€ including wine! |
L'Atlas
http://www.atlas-restaurant.fr/ 12 version of couscous! When I went, it was very bountiful. Location is at the end of St. Germain (south east end), near Seine. |
This won't be very helpful at all, but I still remember the first time I had couscous. It was over 40 years ago in a little restaurant in the Rue Mouffetard whose name I can't recall. I also remember that it was the first time I had salad after the main course, a custom which I still enjoy.

Another vote both for L'Atlas, and the restaurant on Rue Jacob, whose name I can't remember! We've been to both, and thought the food was wonderful.

vedette - I got this cous-cous recommendation from Fodorite 'Dave-in-Paris'. Le Bar Artisans, 40 rue de Montreuil, Metro Faideherbe-Chaligny, offers very good cous-cous for 15-20 per person. Yet to give it a try this up coming trip in Oct.!
