Countryside/Fishing Village accessible by train from Dublin

Hello! My 2 girlfriends and I (early 20's) will be in Ireland in late August. We're flying in & out of Dublin. We'd love to spend 2 days outside of Dublin in a fishing village, near a castle, or in the countryside where we can enjoy the natural scenery & bike around or hike. We're budget travelers and need somewhere accessible by train as we will not be renting a car. Any suggestions? Send them our way!
Thank you!

Just north of Dublin, Malahide fits the bill on all counts. You can also hop the train from there and visit Howth, which is a fishing village with great hiking trails up on the hill.

We stayed at Evergreen in Malahide, a lovely B&B just outside of the town and an easy walk to the castle.

Stayed in Skerries & had an AMAZING time. the owners of the White Cottages made for the most enjoyable part of my Ireland trip. Can't wait to return to Ireland to see the West!
