Have you considered northern Wales if you like the countryside? Snowdonia is beautiful. Conwy and Betys-y-coed would be interesting. Northern Wales has always been one of our favorite places.

Thank you, everybody, for the great suggestions. Thank you, Specs, for your thoughts!! You've made some good points and given me some great information.

I think that I'm sold on the Cotswolds followed by Somerset/Dorset. I'm going to focus my research on those two areas for now.
