Costa Del Sol first week of July
I am going to the Costa Del Sol the first week of July with my two daughters (19 and 14) We are staying at the MacDonald Leila Playa Resort and would like some info on this timeshare if anyone has info and pictures. I wanted to know about the area. My kids love beach vacations but they also like to walk around and shop see tourist sites etc. I have also heard that you have to be careful with pick pockets. Can someone provide some feedback on this?
Do you think that we will need a car?
I'm interested in going to Gibraltar. Would I need a car to get there?
We are also spending 4 nights in Paris and 2 or 3 in London during our trip. Does anyone know of good areas in London to stay that are reasonable.
Thanks for any feedback!

Here's a link to this resort.

It's should be near Mijas. The airport will be Malaga.
You can walk across the border into Gibralter but it's a hike. I'm not sure how you'll arrive to the border crossing, since it's a bit of distance from Mijas.
Other than the historic reasons, your time probably better near your resort. The main center of Gibralter is about four blocks long and it's covered with electronic shops. It's not a pretty city. There are products in Gibralter which are not available, so I went there often but it's not a beautiful place.

We've stayed in the area, though am not sure exactly where this resort is, but it really helps to rent a car because then you can do day trips to some of the nearby great places such as Granada, Ronda, Nerja, etc. I haven't been to Gibraltar, but there's lots of information here about going.
I've never had trouble with pickpockets in Europe, but we both use moneybelts or I don't carry a purse.
