Cost to buy a TIM card in Italy

I'm contemplating the cost effectiveness of purchasing a TIM card for a one week trip to Rome.

The lowest price I've found online is $39 plus shipping. At that price I think I'm better using T-Mobile's international roaming rates.

What is the cost of buying the card once I get to Rome?

We paid €20 but have seen others report that they were able to purchase a €10 card.

Don't know if you want to bother but you can probably recoup all your investment or more by selling it on ebay when you return.

aimeekm,
I paid 10 euro for a SIM card in a TIM store and that included 5 euro talk time.

Thanks for your replies.

Did either of you purchase yours at the airport...since that's probably where I would be purchasing mine.

The ebay idea is a good one. I was actually suprised and disappointed that I can't find one on there currently!

I got mine at a TIM store on Tritone (in Rome).

I've read that you can no longer buy sim cards at FCO, due to terrorism concerns - don't know if that's still true.

I've been watching for tim cards on ebay too - they are popular!

aimeekm,
No, I didn't get mine at the airport. If you want to see your options see http://www.privati.tim.it/template/t...,71_2_,00.html
