cost of bus from Marco Polo vs cost of public water taxi

I need to meet someone at Marco Polo airport in two weeks and wonder if anyone knows the cost of the bus from the airport to the bus station vs. cost of public water taxi (which is 15 euros). Don't want to spend 30 euros just to greet someone. Thanks for information.

The water taxi is NOT public - that is the vaporetto or alliguna water buses}. The water taxi to the airport is PRIVATE and more than 100 euros - possibly way more.

I was going to ask about public water taxis as I'd never heard of them before. I thought it might be something similar to a shared shuttle which I also never heard of in Venice.

There is no bus station in Venice.

You get #5 Airport bus in the bus lane at Piazzale Roma.

A ticket was 5 e last June but it looks like it went up.

Now, how are you going to get from your apartment to Piazzale Roma?

If you take the vapporetto you have to add the
cost to the bus ticket.

However, you can take the alilaguna right to the airport for about 13-15 e.

It's 15 euro, which makes it 30 euro round trip, which as I stated in my post is more than I can afford. I will walk to the bus. Thanks Vincenzo.

If you are staying in Venice for a whole month, then you should get an Imob card, the residents card. You don't need to be a permanent resident to get the card. The card costs about 40 euro and is valid for five years, but then you can ride the vaporetto for about 1.20 euro a trip - and the alilaguna to Marco Polo for about 10 euro.
