Cortina Vacation Accommodations

Our family and another are interested in renting an apartment or chalet in Cortina for the upcoming ski season. Any suggestions on lodging sources or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks Steve. Any favorite hotels in Cortina or top restaurants to try?

We really enjoyed the Hotel de la Poste in the heart of Cortina. Nice room, with balcony overlooking the town with mountains in the background, and a very good restaurant. Good luck.

Hi r,

We really enjoyed the Grand Hotel Savoia, a 4 star. Very European, great restaurant. This was quite a few years ago, but skiing out of Cortina was great! Be sure to do the Sella Ronda and the Passo di Falzarrego (SP?) if the weather is good. Awesome scenery!

Thanks everyone. We're spending 7 days in Cortina. Any other spots in the Italian Alps we should see when we take a break from skiing?

Agordo is a beautiful village. And Falcade is too. The only thing is you would have to go south on the secondary road. About a 2 hours drive. Just small sweet towns with beautiful vistas.

Roacl - If the passes are open - aasuming you have a car - don't miss a tour of the Sella:

Take the Falzarego & Valparola Passes to Corvara, then the Gardena, Sella and Pordoi Passes. This drive is one of the most spectacular in the Dolomites.

En route don't miss the Lagazuoi (Falzarego Pass) and/or Sass Pordoi (Pordoi Pass) cable car rides for stunning views.

From the foot of the Gardena Pass you could also do a short detour into the Val Gardena (Selva Gardena and Ortisei).
From Selva the Ciampinoi cable car takes you up for more superb views ...

.....

Other good drives are to

- Lake Braies and the Sesto Dolomites

- Passo Giau, Colle Santa Lucia and Alleghe

- Lake Misurina

... to name a few!

Hope this helps ...

Steve
