Corsica Itinerary - need advice please

My hubby and I are planning a trip to Corsica at the end of July and we are looking at the following itinerary. Can anyone make suggestions where we have questions?:

Fly into Sardenia - stay in Costa Esmeralda for night or 2
Ferry to Corsica/ Bonifacio
Should we stay in Bonifacio or Porto Vecchio while we are here? Or is there another suggestion in this area? Will stay here 2-3 nights
Corte 1-2 nights
Head up to Bastia and stay in Bastia or Saint Florent for 2-3 nights (which should we stay in...or is there another suggestion in this area)?
Fly out of Bastia

Thanks for any advice!

What are you interested in: beaches, culture, nightlife?
Will you have a car?
Accommodation: what are you looking for and at which price?

Hi Neckervd,
we're interested in beaches, beautiful natural scenery, culture, food & wine. Yes, we will have a car.
We'd like to keep accommodations $400 and under...

May be you have a look at www.booking.com in order to see what's available at your dates.
If you have a car, you must not book the most expensive sea front hotels with private beaches; just drive to the beaches early enough in the morning before all chairs and umbrellas are sold out resp before all shadowy places under trees are occupied.
I like the beaches around Liscia Ruja - Capriccioli, Romazzino, Porto Puddu (Palau), and most isolated beaches between Bonifaciu, Pianottoli Caldarello and Propriano. But there are tons of other nice beaches of course!

IMHO, the beaches around St. Florent (and West of St. Florent up to Ile Rousse) are much nicer than those in the South of Bastia, but your preferencies may be different.

The beaches were damn cold and windy when we were in Ajaccio if that helps at all.

Thanks so much Neckervd. Can I ask what you like better about the beaches up North compared to the South? From what I read people are mixed but I'm not clear on the differences.

Dianedancer, oh no! What time of year did you go? Did you like Ajaccio? Did you go anywhere else on the island you liked?
