Yes, the issue is the opposite: you can fly back to the UK, but you canīt get into Spain from the UK, unless itīs your country of permanent residence or youīre a Spanish national.

Good luck twopints. We have a US poster who has returned but has not yet posted her experiences.
Spain now has 1,300 deaths and travelers coming from Spain and Italy have "seeded" many countries in South America, including Peru who quickly locked down their borders and streets, and Colombia, who just reported their first death, a taxi driver in Cartagena who had transported some Italian tourists. The attitudes from the likes of some the posters here that it was overblown and No Big Deal IMO explain the more rapid rate spread and infections in certain European countries. I hope they all "get it" now. |
The latest news is that Spain has another two weeks of home confinement, that is, until April 13. The information today is that the contagion rate has slowed down and the peak is thought to be reached this coming week, but nothing is certain. Everything is closed except supermarkets, pharmacies and business for urgent needs. People still keep their spirits high and get out their windows at 8pm every day to clap and to cheer the health workers. The public health system is robust and working to its full capacity but also needs the support of private hospitals, as well as other health institutions. 68% of patients in ICU are over 60 year old, 89% of deaths are over 70 years old and with previous conditions. 12% of infected are health workers. Expecting the extreme contention measures to work soon.

Please listen to Dr. Fauci, the voice of reason, intelligence, and logic in the White House. He has said many times coronavirus is more dangerous than the common flu because the mortality rate is higher, and possibly 10 times higher!!! The coronavirus is very contagious and is spreading rapidly!!! In Italy, 800 people died in 24 hours!!! Ask their families if this is overblown!!! We do not have a vaccine yet, and most likely won't have one for 12 - 18 months, so this is another reason why coronavirus is worse than the common flu!!!! Please stop spreading rumors that the coronavirus is going to die when the weather warms up. No one knows this for sure. Please listen to the infectious disease and public health experts!!! |
Yep there are idiots here in California too, Karen Woo. Not only spring break vacationers. Not much social distance in many popular outdoor venues, not grocery store lines. I'm about to take advantage of early hours shopping. I wouldn't if people would just back it up!
