Cork to Dingle

We will be vacationing with 3 couples for 7 dats in July. Although our home base will be Cork, we would like to take one of our day trips to Dingle. Can anyone tell us how long it will take to drive from Cork to Dingle. If it is more then 3 hours each way, we would probably want to stay over in Dingle one night. Does anyone have a recommendation for a B&B in Dingle that we could try to book from here.

Thanks for your help,
Robin

Stay over in Dingle!!

You will almost certainly want to stop along the way, so the trip will end up being more than 3 hours no matter what. We absolutely loved Heaton's guesthouse; Nuala and Cameron are generous with their info and the rooms are fabulous, as is breakfast. See www.heatonsdingle.com.

I just posted our (very long, sorry) TR for more info/ideas for you. Have a great trip!

I would plan on at least three hours. You have to get out of Cork and the route will take you through Macroom and Killarney. All good roads but I always add a half hour on any Irish road trip. You should spend the night in Dingle. You don't want to be rushed on the Sleahead Drive and don't skip the Connor Pass, it is much easier to drive these days.

I have stayed twice at ASHES B&B. Off street parking and 5 minutes walk to any spot in town. It is up on the hight road. Have fun

I agree that 3 hours is safe. You may make it in a bit less, but you may stop or get lost once or twice. I also agree that staying over makes the most sense.

Getting to Dingle Town is one thing but to drive around the Dingle Peninsula would perhaps take three hours as well once there. Gotta overnight or go for the easier to do i think Ring of Kerry as a day trip
