Cordoba - hotel recommendation?

Does anyone have a hotel recommendation for Cordoba? My husband and I (mid-30s, no kids) will be staying there for 1 night in early July. I'm looking for something in/near the Jewish quarter with local flavor, old-world style. Am I crazy to think I can find a place like that for between 60 and 80 Euro a night? In Ronda, we're staying at the Enfrente Arte, and in Toledo we'll be at La Posada de Manolo. Is there something like that in Cordoba? Many thanks in advance for your help.

We stayed at El Conquistador and I think it would fit your needs in terms of location, charm, and price. Check out bancotel.com or petrabrax.com to see if you could get if through either.

May be the Hotel Maimonides will do too. It is also in front of the MEzquita.

For real Cordoban/Moorish flavour, try Hostal Lineros 38 (hostallineros38.com) (don't be put off by the word "hostal").

My mother and I booked their 2-person suite (96 euros so a bit over your stated budget, but there are other cheaper rooms) and absolutely loved it, especially the beautiful decor. You can see a photo I took of the room here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/3334845...n/set-1435699/

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful too. Only issue was that from our room you could sometimes hear people speaking in the inner courtyard, but it wasn't a major problem. It has air-con, though we didn't need it when we were there.

Location is good, in the old quarter and a pleasant 10 minute walk from the mezquita.

Thanks for the terrific input. The El Conquistador and the Hostal Lineros both seem to fit our criteria perfectly. I'm sure either one will work for us. Thank you again; I hope I can be as helpful as everyone has been on these boards once we return from our trip...
