Pixie: Cafe Petersborg is cosy and very down home Danish. If you're a major foodie and want an expensive but delightful meal, you might want to try 1th (Herluf Trolles gade 9). It is a fixed price meal (wine included) of about six courses. It starts out in a reception room where you and other guests are served a champagne (or sparkling wine). You are then seated in a small dining room where you can see the staff and the kitchen. The food was magnificent, and it was great fun to eat with about twenty Danes (we were the only non natives that night) at what seemed much like a grand dinner at the home of a master chef. We spent about three hours at the restaurant. We did make our reservations about two months in advance, and everything is likely booked for the 14th. But, if this sounds interesting to you and you want to check to see if they had a cancellation or have an opening, e-mail [email protected]. It was a magical evening, although an expensive one (maybe $300 for two in 2004).
