Copenhagen visit - Tivoli Gardens?
 

I will be visiting copenhagen over 18-21 april. can someone please tell me how is Tivoli Gardens? i have read about it on the internet and their website. the admission ticket (for 99 DKK) gives access to what all (i know rides are excluded)? there is a concert every friday, does this admission ticket allow me to watch the concert?any information will be very helpful and appreciated.

We enjoyed our day at Tivoli Gardens. We visited in June so the lights did not come on at night because it was still light out. That would have been pretty though. We didn't ride any rides, just walked through the gardens and shops. There was a concert setting up when we left. It was free, located in the big open grassy area in the middle of the park. We had the Copenhagen Card so can't really comment about the cost. We only spent about 4 hours in the park, very convenient bus stops in the surrounding area.

The admission fee entitles you to tour the whole park, gardens, public concerts (not special event indoor premium performances) and have access to the rides, midway, fireworks. Frankly we like it much more at night than during the day.

We went there our first night in Copenhagen. Even though we hadn't slept much in over 24 hours, it was a fantastic experience! The admission was 50% off since it was the last night of the season (late September) and there was an orchestra on the stage, and a light show over the lake. It was raining, even while we were watching fireworks, but the overall feel was magical. Visit at night if you can :)

I agree that Tivoli at night is probably best, or if you can visit late afternoon into evening/night time. The light show over the lake is really good and is at 10.45pm. The website shows the time of the illuminations.

Tivoli is open all through Easter right until end of September.

Groften Restaurant is a traditional old style Danish restaurant, it's great for a meal in the Tivoli Gardens.
