Copenhagen to Billund

I will be in Copenhagen from 18th to 21st april. i am planning to make a day trip to Billund. what is the cheaper way to go to Billund (bus/train)? is there a 2 way ticket available for the same day? the last information was for 2011, and things might have changed now.

Try clicking on journey planner. Generally speaking, it is best to have a seat reservation in addition to the ticket, because trains get busy during holidays.

i take the train from Copenhagen central, but what is the destination train station (i know there is no train station called Billund)? the current one way price shows as around 400 DKK, but i had read somewhere about Orange tickets which are lower priced. how can i book them?

I can find Billund C in the destination dropdown box, assuming you are going to the city centre and not Legoland for instance. On the random date I chose, it showed you change at Velje station, then walk to a bus stop and last part is by bus. When I googled orange tickets, it said that they were only available on certain dates/routes and cannot combine train/bus journeys. Here is the link to book.

You only asked about the price. Did you look at the timing also?
The train portion is 3 hours 49 minutes. The bus is 30 minutes. So if you are lucky with all the connections, it is about 4.5 hours one leg. Doing this as a day trip by train means 9 hours total travel time. How much day time are you willing to allocate to this trip?
