Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo and Bergen Dining Recommendations
I am looking for recommendations for dining in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo and Bergen. They need not be for fine dining; we are more interested in something unique or not to be missed when visiting.
Thank you!
Thank you!

You'll find even the low end restaurants to be expensive in these cities, so be prepared for that. In Oslo, we had a good meal at Mr. Hong's, located next door to the Rainbow Cecil Hotel. In Stockholm, you can eat at the Saluhall (food hall) in Ostermalm. We also enjoyed the pizza and pasta at the quaint Ciao Ciao Grande on Linnegatan (reservations needed). In Copenhagen, we ate at Ida Davidson for tasty traditional open-faced sandwiches(pricey though!), and at Cap Horn in Nyhavn for lunch (also a bit pricey). I can't help with Bergen, as we ended up eating at the food court in Nordstan (the huge indoor shopping mall). Hope this helps!

My DH and I were in Scandinavia in 2003. Surprisingly I had one of the best meals "in my life" at Pfefernusse (sp) in the Tivoli gardens. It was amazing - the entree was Pickled Duck, the appetizer was a salmon gravlax and we shared a creme brulee for dessert. The vegetables were cooked to absolute perfection.

We were there June 2004; my husband is a "foodie" so that will definitely impact our recommendations. Copenhagen: for pizza, pasta, casual, try La Vecchio Signora. For open faced sandwiches I, too, like the other poster, recommend Ida Davidson. For a wonderful meal in a historic setting, consider Restaurant Els. In Oslo, there is Statholdergaarden, a Michelin one star with prices to match. In Bergen, THE best pizza, maybe anywhere is at Pepe's. Don't miss it! We enjoyed dinner at Bryggeloftet & Stuene (I had reindeer!). In Stockholm, try lunch at Bla Porten, a cafe in the Liljewalchs Art Museum. Another Michelin one star: Wedholms Fisk.

For Different dining in Stockholm, I have 3 suggestions:
1. Bröderna Olsson's on Folkungagatan, is a garlic restaurant, with plenty of it in the food, beer, dessert and coffee! You dont come here for the view...
2. Restaurant Gondolen at Slussen, has by far, the best combination of good food/wine and gorgeous view in Stockholm City!
3. Take a boatcruise out to the islands, and combine food with pretty archipelago islets floating by.
Enjoy!
