Are there any suggestions for a city center reasonably priced hotels?

Have no idea what you mean by reasonable - how could I?

I agree, we need to know what reasonable means to you:)

We have stayed at the other Wakeupcopenhagen and it was fine, but you need to be ok with the bathroom situation. There are no normal walls, it is just a frosted (barely) glass enclosure in the room. If you are traveling by yourself, no big deal, but if you are sharing a room with anyone, you might want to really consider if that works for you.

The Generator Hostel has private rooms too, even for groups of 3 or 4. That can come in about the same price as a hotel, but it has a private bathroom with real walls:)

We have also stayed at the Scandic Front, which we liked and felt was reasonable. We had a huge room, looked out over the water, although there is construction across the street. We would definitely stay there again, FWIW.

We stayed at Best Western Hebron and found it to be good. Breakfast was included. Close to Tivoli, train station and Stroget.

For how many people? And what is your specific budget per night? (To us anything less than $300 would be very reasonable for Copenhagen.)

I'd ask what you are looking to do, when you are hoping to go, and what your real budget is.

I will offer some general advice:
- The Nyhavn end of town is more upscale than the area around Tivoli.

- While not unsafe, the area immediately behind the train station (esp. along Istegade) is a bit seedy (homeless shelter, porn shops, street drinking). Some good choices for ethnic food in the area though.

- The best located hotel is either the Skt Petri or d'Angleterre. The d'Angleterre is probably the "best" hotel, though the Nimb would give it a run for the money and is more intimate.

- In general, the city isn't that big and anything within the area bounded by the canals, the harbor, and a line between Østerport and Vesterport would be decent enough if you are up for walking or are willing to figure out transit.

I can recommend the Hotel Bethel right on the Nyhavn canal. It used to be an old seafarers lodging and is a bit dated interior wise but is clean and "reasonably" priced for the two nights we were there. We are a family of four who stayed in a quad with private bathroom and had a view of the canal from our window. Rate included breakfast.

I have been to Copenhagen only once, 5 years ago and had a reservaton for a hotel Phoenix in Aalborg 300 kms (at least) away. So I went to the Phoenix in Copenhagen and whilst they were nearly full they could accomodate me in a room kept for their personal (very very small) for 100 e - I am eternally grateful that they found a solution for a big 5,5 hours of sleep that I had in front of me by then...
And they found a way to send me to Aalborg.
The hotel was very nice and I've always said I'd go back.


Copenhague Phoenix

I've stayed in a few central ones which I can recommend:

The Square - great location
71 Nyhavn - great location but quirky rooms
The Admiral - converted warehouse so quirky rooms again
Marriott - A bit of a walk to Tivoli etc but I do like this hotel despite that

The location of the Phoenix is great, I like the road it's in and the various antique shops/galleries etc. Towards the end of this road is Guldsmeden Babette which I might stay in next time, close to Kastellet, the old fortifications of Copenhagen.

We didn't find the area of the Hebron to be that bad, no more so than in other cities. But then, we walked all the way to and from The Carlsburg brewery, through all types of neighborhoods! It was a quick, short walk to the back entrance to the train station so it was convenient and easy to get to HC Anderson Blvd

We spent a couple of nights at The Mercur and found that to be a bit fairther out but we had a newly refurbished large room again with breakfast and good price.

Our first trip we stayed a the Marriott but felt that was a bit removed and harder to find places to eat right nearby.

Agree that the area behind the station isn't "that" bad, but relatively it isn't as nice as the Nyhavn side.

I agree the Marriott is a bit out of the way, but it is closer than it feels and has some of the most uniformly nice and large rooms around. Before Nimb and the refurb of the d'Angleterre, it had the best rooms in the city. It is an easy hotel to recommend.

Until the OP tells us what she is willing to spend, this is all irrelevant.
