Well... sorry, cannot figure this out!!

Is DSB train the website for it? How do I get from the airport CPH to Vesterport stop? How many zones ticket do I need? How much is the ticket? How long is the ride?

Am I right that it's not the metro that I will need? Is the name of the train S-tog or just "train" - what should I say asking for directions?

I read all stops on all lines from A to H, I think I see Vesterport, don't see the name of the airport station, is it Kastrup?

Which website should I look at?

You can type in Copenhagen and a list comes up including Copenhagen airport. Journey time is abt 20mins. You can buy the tickets at the airport train station, either single tickets or can buy klippekort to cover several trips. It is very easy and convenient, trains are frequent as well.

This is a very tricky and interesting question. You cannot go directly to Vesterport Station from Kastrup. The train does not stop there. It stops at the main station and then again at Nørreport Station, thus passing Vesterport without stopping. The Metro takes a different route in the center and stops at Christianshavn, Kongens Nytorv, Nørreport.

Odin, yes, I was on the website, but didn't figure out on my own that the train does not stop at my stop, it would simply didn't work for me.

Turned out, thanks to CruiseCritic, there are 2 trains, one to take from the airport to Central station, another (commuter train) to my stop.

Soljet, I was told, I can either switch trains, or which exit to take to get out 2 blocks away from my station. I will see how jetlagged I am to figure this out

The worst case scenario - are taxis available at the central station?

Hmmm... if I want to switch from the airport train to the commuter train, is it inside the same station? Different platform? Or how?

Vesterport and the main station are near each other. So depending on where you are going, you might walk. Taxis will be plenty outside the main station, but they will not love you for such a small tour. The train you switch to is the S-train. And yes, you have to change platform to go from regional train to S-train.

To answer some of your questions:

1) The train will be on a separate platform, but in the same station. The S-Tog platforms feature a prominent 'S' logo that looks a bit like a stop sign. I believe that every S-Tog will stop at Vesterport, assuming you go in the right direction.

2) The walk between the two stations is not very far, so it could be feasible to walk. The rejseplanen website provides full details - type in your destination address (or the name of the hotel, even) and you will get all of your various options, including walking directions.

3) The ride from the airport comprises 3 zones. Depending upon how much you plan on taking public transit, the most sensible option is likely to be buying a 2-zone klipkort, which you simply stamp twice when going to and from the airport. This would leave you with 6 more punches to use around town. Because of the discount for the klipkort, 2 clips is cheaper than a single-journey ticket, and you would only need to use 4 of the remaining 6 clips to make it cost effective. You could also buy a 3-zone klipkort, but this would probably be overkill for any of your trips in town.

4) You can buy klipkorts from either the booth, or from the machines, which I believe take most credit cards. You then have to punch them at one of the yellow boxes on the platform (or when entering the bus). If you transfer between a train and the bus, you simply show the ticket to the driver. On the trains, you may never have to show the ticket to anyone, but will pay a fine if they come by and you haven't punched your klipkort.

5) Taxis are readily available and all take credit cards (there is a surcharge for foreign cards). They won't be crazy about a short ride, though. FWIW, a taxi from the airport would likely cost around DKK 250 or so (roughly US$50).

6) Another alternative would be to take the Metro to Nørreport and transfer to the S-Tog there.

On another website somebody suggested bus 5A to Radhudspladsen, somebody else said it doesn't run from the airport.

I wonder if there is a direct bus... or maybe we'll just go to the Central station and walk from there, too bad there are no shuttles! I am afraid after taking a long flight we'll be so jetlagged, won't be able to think clearly.

Gourmet, thank you for klipkort advice, this may be enough for our 2.5 days stay.

Bus 5A definitely runs from the airport to Vesterport. The big downside, though, is that it will take roughly double the time of a train/train or metro/train connection.

So it will be 40' instead of 20' And with window seats it will be like a mini-tour
